The Coach…Kent Wheeler
My passion is cycling. I discovered cycling after a variety of other sports to include soccer, golf, and wrestling. I first started mountain biking for fun and fitness at the age of 31 after I sustained a serious ankle injury playing soccer and then transitioned over to road cycling. Ten years later, I am a Category 1 racer, and I am also in the process of becoming a USA Cycling elite level coach. I have raced for 5 Teams Swami’s, Sun Coast Velo, Bike Doctor, Evolution, and U. S. Armed Forces Cycling Team during my time in the military. I have had the privilege of racing some of the top level racing in the U.S. to include the Tour de Toona, Tour of Somerville, CSC Invitational, Redlands, and Elite Nationals. One highlight of my racing career has been racing for the Armed Forces Cycling team and taking 3rd place in the Armed Forces Criterium Championship 2003. Although I started racing competitively later in life than most cyclists, I contribute my success on the bike to my discipline from the military, my years of training in other sports, my education, and my constant desire to be the best.
Why a cycling coach
Training for cycling takes time. Fulfilling the obligations of every day life takes time. I am here to help you find the balance between training and living life that enables you to achieve all of your cycling goals. I am Kent Wheeler, and I am 2-Wheels Elite Cycling. A cyclist today needs to have discipline, a training plan, assessment marks and goals to be successful. This is true for all cyclists no matter if your goal is to complete your first metric century or if your goal is to win a mountain bike world title. 2-Wheels Elite Cycling will not only prepare you for your journey into the cycling world but will make the journey with you. I will personally prepare a training plan that is specifically tailored to meet your needs; we will perform assessments to track your improvements and we will set goals to keep you focused. Together, you and I can successfully achieve your cycling goals.
Training Philosophy
Life does not revolve around cycling but cycling revolves around life; therefore, you must train right, eat right, race smart, and achieve success.
